Calyx started in 2005 as a managed service provider, offering traditional outsourced IT, application, network, server and infrastructure support to small and medium businesses. While successful, limitations of the traditional support model and on-site hardware quickly became the pinch-point to improve customer performance.
Traditional IT solutions are capital heavy, require forklift upgrades every 3-4 years, and limit scalability. Calyx was determined to find a better way, and in 2010 we began on the road to develop our Framework solution to eliminate these headaches, bottlenecks and lack of scalability presented by typical in-house solutions.
In late 2017, Calyx found the perfect opportunity to expand our team, expertise and ability to service customers with the acquisition of System Care Inc., a premier managed services provider with offices in Westlake, Mentor and Dublin, Ohio. Bringing together the expertise, knowledge and experience of both teams is the catalyst to deliver new technologies and enhancements via our Framework platform at a faster pace, extending cutting edge services to our customers.
Jason Fordu, CEO – Jason founded Calyx as a managed service provider in 2005. After understanding the struggles and limitations the MSP model caused for clients, Jason directed the focus to providing a holistic, elegant solution that enabled the user to focus on being productive and not being slowed down by IT issues.
Matt Russell, CTO - Matt began his work with Calyx in 2015 as a Senior Systems Engineer, working on implementation and design of the Framework solution and assisting with the migration of customers to Framework. In 2017, Matt moved into the role of CTO and provides direction to the help desk, professional services and engineering teams to deliver an exceptional user experience.
Ed Grauel, COO – Ed came to Calyx in 2017 through the acquisition of System Care Inc., where he served as the Operations Manager. Ed brings over a decade of IT experience in Managed Services, with a focus on developing efficiencies, excellence in service delivery and process improvement.
Tom Clause, Director of Sales – Tom joined the Calyx team in 2016 and has been working in sales and sales management since 1991. Tom focuses on understanding our customer’s business needs and working to develop solutions that will maximize productivity.
Walt Ely – Walt previously served as the President of System Care Inc., and brings over 30 years of IT knowledge and management experience to the Calyx team.
